First in second round of chemo

11 Mar

I had the first of my three-weekly chemotherapy treatments on Wednesday and so far, so good. Apart from feeling a bit of nausea at times I have not had any of the other major side-effects yet. Mind you, the platelets start dropping at the end of the first week and the immune levels are weakest between the seventh and fourteenth days after each treatment. During those times I need to keep away from anyone with colds, flu’s or infectious diseases.

We have read your latest update and, as you head into that ‘week after the treatment’ time hope that you are still feeling ok.
We understand this round of 3 treatments is important for the way it may set you up for further ‘radioactive’ treatments.
So we hope that side effects are minimal and that outcome is what is needed for the follow up treatment that worked so well the first time.
Re Cliff Richard, I nearly went and I’m not in the group that would worry about ‘popping a hip’. He’s timeless.
Would have been a good concert I am sure.
We are off in 3 weeks time to Easter Camp again. Abby, and our Japanese student and another international student are coming with us as part of the Burnside Elim ‘Khaos’ youth group. I am already checking my woolies and sourcing new thermals ready for the event. (I hate being cold.) We have had offers of dog sitting from church and really hope to locate a caravan as I think I am allergic to tents.
    Continuing prayers for you both.
