Relay for Life – Cancer Society

01 Apr

A couple of weeks ago Bronwen and I walked the Survivor’s Lap at the annual Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser. I was amazed to see the number of people who have had cancer at some stage or other. It was quite an emotional experience as we walked the lap and saw the number of people applauding the walkers. We were also walking close to the piper which added to the emotion of the event.

Our photo appeared in the local paper reporting on the event. Survivors wore red sashes and caregivers wore green sashes. Some wore both. In the photo we are on the right. Bronwen has a green cap and a green and white striped shirt. I am on her right with a blue cap and blue top.
