I thoroughly enjoyed preaching on Sunday but was totally exhausted on Sunday afternoon. Monday was no better and in the evening I was running a temperature of 98.4.
On Monday when I phoned for the results of blood tests taken last Thursday I was given the wrong reading. The numbers I was given were very encouraging and higher than they’d been for a long time. I could not understand why I should be feeling so lethargic. When I visited the Oncologist today the physician mentioned that my haemoglobin was very low. She has scheduled me into the Day Stay Unit at Nelson Hospital for a blood transfusion this Thursday.
At least the levels will be topped up in time for me to fly to Wellington this weekend where I am preaching at a Chinese church.
